Here are 6 skills you need to focus on as a UX/UI designer
1.) UX research skills - You need to gather qualitative and quantitative data about users through research and analysis. This can be done by user interviews. So as a designer, you should be able to lead and conclude the interview the right way.
2.) Wireframing and prototyping skills - As a designer, you decide what features to display, where to position, etc. in a wireframe. After creating the wireframe, you need to work on mockups for which you need to be familiar with prototyping tools.
3.) UX writing skills - This is a niche specialty. UX writing skills can elevate your ability to design and craft a good UX through microcopy. Effective copy doesn’t let the user feel lost at any point in time.
4.) Visual communication skills - An effective visual communication is the ability to communicate the maximum amount of information without the need for written text.
5.) Interaction design skills - Interaction design consists of elements such as aesthetics, motion, sounds, space, etc. These decide how a user interacts with the product.
6.) Analytical skills - After the product is sent off to production, the work of a designer doesn’t end there. Usability testing is yet to be done. As a designer, you need to find ways to improve existing products while using the data to come up with new ideas.
