No bleeding on the first night? Does that mean something is wrong?
Hi, I’m Dr. Ira Biswas, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist.
One of the most common myths I hear is that a woman must bleed during her first sexual intercourse. That is simply not true.
Not every woman bleeds the first time. The hymen can naturally vary in shape and elasticity, and bleeding or not bleeding cannot be used to determine whether someone has had sex before.
In this video, I explain:
✔️ Why some women bleed during first intercourse and others don’t
✔️ What actually happens to the hymen
✔️ Why bleeding is NOT proof of virginity
✔️ Common myths surrounding the “first night”
✔️ When pain or unusual bleeding should be discussed with a gynecologist
Every woman’s body is different. Please don’t judge someone's sexual history based on bleeding, the appearance of the hymen, or other so-called “virginity tests.”
Let’s replace myths with the right medical information. ❤️
